Rosie Duffield MP, co-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Birth Trauma, welcomed Louise Thompson and her brother Sam Thompson to Parliament this week for a meeting to mark Birth Trauma Awareness Week 2025. The main topic of discussion was the urgent need to raise public awareness of birth trauma, an issue that continues to affect thousands of families across the UK. Speaking after the event, Rosie said: Louise has been incredibly courageous in so publicly talking about her experiences, hoping to encourage more women to share their stories and campaign for improvements to maternity services across the UK. - Rosie visits businesses impacted by flash flooding in Canterbury
Rosie Duffield MP has visited businesses across Canterbury that were severely impacted by the recent flash flooding. In between talking to residents and businesses affected, Rosie discussed her concerns on ITV Meridian News, highlighting how the proposed housing developments and ongoing issues with water companies will make flooding an even bigger concern in the coming years. While affordable housing is desperately needed in the constituency, a plethora of brand new, expensive properties will not solve this problem - rather will create more issues if the correct infrastructure is not in place. Rosie has called on Kent County Council (KCC) to listen to local business owners in St Dunstan's who do not want the problematic pavement arrangements that were imposed on them earlier this year. Business owners had previously warned KCC that it would cause serious issues with flooding.
