Rosie welcomes Canterbury Christ Church University's New Midwifery Programme

Rosie Duffield MP has welcomed the news that Canterbury Christ Church University's new midwifery programme has been approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Launching in September 2025, the programme will equip future midwives with the knowledge and skills they need to study and practise in line with NMC’s midwifery standards – supporting them to deliver safe, effective care to women, babies and families across the UK.

This comes two years after the NMC withdrew approval of the previous course in 2023. Canterbury Christ Church University have worked closely with the NMC to develop its newly approved programme.
