Rosie welcomes Louise Thompson to Parliament to discuss Birth Trauma

Updated: 2 days ago

Rosie Duffield MP, co-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Birth Trauma, welcomed Louise Thompson and her brother Sam Thompson to Parliament this week for a meeting to mark Birth Trauma Awareness Week 2025.

The main topic of discussion was the urgent need to raise public awareness of birth trauma, an issue that continues to affect thousands of families across the UK.

Speaking after the event, Rosie said:

Louise has been incredibly courageous in so publicly talking about her experiences, hoping to encourage more women to share their stories and campaign for improvements to maternity services across the UK. I look forward to working with them both to ensure preventing birth trauma continues to be a shared cross-party priority for this Parliament.
