Rosie Duffield MP has visited businesses across Canterbury that were severely impacted by the recent flash flooding. In between talking to residents and businesses affected, Rosie discussed her concerns on ITV Meridian News, highlighting how the proposed housing developments and ongoing issues with water companies will make flooding an even bigger concern in the coming years.
While affordable housing is desperately needed in the constituency, a plethora of brand new, expensive properties will not solve this problem - rather will create more issues if the correct infrastructure is not in place.
Rosie has called on Kent County Council (KCC) to listen to local business owners in St Dunstan's who do not want the problematic pavement arrangements that were imposed on them earlier this year. Business owners had previously warned KCC that it would cause serious issues with flooding.
