Rosie Duffield MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Dog Advisory Welfare Group, hosted the inaugural UK School Dog of the Year Awards ceremony in Parliament today, alongside the National School Dog Alliance.
The UK National School Dog of the Year Awards celebrates outstanding school dog practices across the UK. School dogs provide comfort, boost moral and help with learning; they can be invaluable to children and teachers alike.
There were 12 exceptional finalists from all over the UK in attendance, with each finalist showcasing the powerful impact of a well-supported school dog on pupils, staff and the wider school community.
Rosie extended her thanks to Dr Marc (the vet) and Helen from the National School Dog Alliance for all their hard work to make it happen.
