The Family Farm Tax
I have heard from many local farmers about the personal toll the Government changes to Agricultural Property Relief (APR) and Business Property Relief will take on their family and their business, meeting with many of them at the recent protest in Westminster.
I voted in support of a motion which called for a reverse of what is essentially a hostile tax imposed by the Government.
Given that farming organisations including the National Farmers Union, Countryside Alliance, Tenant Farmers Association and The Country Land and Business Association have all raised serious concerns about the harm this will cause to family farms and tenant farmers; it is extremely disappointing that the Government continue to refuse to listen.
