Rosie welcomes Whitstable Fisherman's Association to Parliament

Rosie Duffield MP welcomed Esther from Whitstable Fisherman’s Association to Parliament this afternoon, attending the Shellfish All-Party Parliamentary Group event.

They discussed the opportunities the Shellfish Aquaculture industry has to deliver growth on the coast, how to navigate the post-Brexit bureaucracy that impacts the export of our shellfish, and the pressing need for a National Strategy on Aquaculture. The shellfish industry has suffered enormously from successive governments failing to stop the pollution of our seas by profit-driven private water companies who do not even engage with local fishing organisations.

I will always support our hardworking fishers and continue to hold the Government and water bosses to account.
