After the Government released their response to the East Kent maternity scandal, I spoke to Meridian (clip below) and BBC local news. While I welcome the Government’s recommendations and am pleased Dr Kirkup will be leading this work, this is not the end of the journey.
First and foremost it is clear that there needs to be a massive a culture change and women need to be listened to. And secondly, the Government need to commit the necessary resources to ensure that these words and plans are turned into action as soon as possible.
