Spillage from Chartham Paper Mill Site

Following the news of an oil spillage into the Great Stour from the Chartham paper mill site as a result of a break-in by copper thieves, I’ve written to the Environment Agency asking them to keep me informed of the clean-up of the river.

The effect of this pollution has clearly been devastating on the wildlife that call the river home, and I know that many local residents are very upset.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at that time, or who has any information, should call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/27555/24.
