Today was the first day of the summer recess. MPs all left London last night for their constituencies and Rosie was back in Canterbury, but the work certainly hasn’t stopped!
It was a special morning joining the students, staff and governors at St. Nicholas School in Canterbury for their Celebration Assembly. Rosie was also delighted to be able to join staff on a walk around the school, seeing the fabulous new play equipment and their inspirational teaching spaces.
St. Nicholas school is a maintained special school for pupils aged 4-19 with severe, profound and complex learning needs. The Headteacher, Daniel Lewis, gave out certificates and prizes, identifying a special and individual achievement for each pupil in front of a packed hall full of parents, carers, teaching assistants, teachers, governors and supporters. Rosie was thrilled to be invited.
Later in the day, Rosie met with constituents at her second surgery and was pleased to be able to offer advice, help and an ear for those who’ve asked for help. Surgeries will run throughout the summer and details on how to book an appointment are on the website www.rosieduffieldmp.co.uk
