A visit to Canterbury Academy

Another full and very varied day working in the constituency. Started with an urgent meeting about Kent & Canterbury Hospital – will update with more details on that when I can.

Then I spent a really lovely afternoon at Canterbury Primary School and the Academy. I’ve been hearing great things about the school for the last few years but I was truly bowled over by the enthusiastic staff and lively, chatty children I got to meet (including one of my own very favourite former Reception Class pupils!). It was so clear that all at the school are really proud of what they have achieved and rightly so! It is an amazing and uplifting place with so much on offer to pupils of all talents, strengths and abilities. The sports facilities are world-class and the school has clearly invested so much time and thought in to creating all the unique programmes and opportunities on offer to the children. I’m really proud to have such an outstanding school right in the heart of Canterbury.

And I’m really looking forward to seeing the pupils I met today (who took part in the school’s own election campaign) in Westminster very soon!!
