Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills, meet new people and serve your local community. We encouraging volunteering within our office as much as possible. In particular we:

  1. offer formal work placements through local charities
  2. providing short term school work placements
  3. encouraging people to volunteer weekly with us or for specific events or campaigns through the local Labour Party.

As a volunteer in the constituency office you can expect to be asked to help with:

  • Casework, depending on the age and ability of the student
  • Researching an issue and preparing a briefing
  • Writing press releases
  • Accompanying the MP to a meeting or event in the House or in the Constituency
  • Assisting with office duties
  • Answering queries from constituents, either by phone, letter, or by email

During election cycles the local Labour Party is also always looking for volunteers. There are a number of ways you can help, from knocking on doors and delivering leaflets, to telephoning members or coming along to help support events.
